Halton Organization for Pride and Education Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario - Halton Local Burlington Community Foundation

HOPE sponsors a social committee that is dedicated to developing and running social events throughout the year leading up to the June Pride events. The committee started out with a focus on the Pride event (which is being planned throughout the year), but really took on a social networking aspect to it.

The S.N.A.P. committee is HOPE’s Social Networking And Pride committee. We are always looking for more volunteers and especially welcome to ideas as to what sort of social events you are looking for. Do you have an idea, a venue for us to use, a business that could help??? Let us know at info@haltonpride.org or call the office 905-632-4551.

Thank you all for your continued support. We can build a better community together!

HOPE is pleased to offer our new youth group poster.

Colour Outside the Lines with HOPEPlease post in your agency and feel free to forward to other youth servicing agencies. The poster was created by youth accessing our group.

For the past 6 years HOPE has been running two youth groups in Halton for gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer and questioning youth, their friends and allies. The Oakville group runs the second Monday of the month 7pm – 9pm and the Milton group runs every second Tuesday of the month 7pm – 9pm.

The poster does not have the locations listed for confidentiality and safety reasons. Individuals, youth, workers, guidance councillors, teachers and parents are encouraged to call the HOPE office for locations and more information.

The LGBTQ youth attending the groups are most welcoming to allied friends attending. The facilitators will also meet or talk with parents if needed.
